IHEEM members will be eligible for the same discounted rate as IMechE members at a seminar being staged by the latter at its London offices on 18 May (which the Institute is supporting) that will examine all aspects of water collection, storage, distribution, and use, including the challenges of growing future demand, and the implications for health and healthcare as resources become scarcer.
Possible solutions, such as current and future collection and storage technologies, will be considered, alongside the sustainability implications of ensuring that adequate water resources and systems are available for future generations. The seminar, “Clear Thinking: water – from collection and storage to distribution and use”, will also cover how education can influence people to be more aware of their environment and responsible about personal, commercial, and industrial use of water. Delegates will have the chance to:
• Develop their knowledge and understanding of how less energy can be consumed in water supply and distribution.
• Learn about future water-saving technologies, and the key drivers for water demand management.
• Keep abreast of current policy and the legislative framework.
• Gain an understanding of end-user water consumption trends, and the health issues related to water availability.
