EMSc Powerstar says the Mersey Care NHS Trust has reduced electricity consumption at a number of its hospital sites by nearly a fifth after installing the company’s Powerstar voltage optimisation system.
The British-made system, which EMSc Powerstar says independent tests have proven “offers the highest efficiency and provides better savings than any other voltage optimisation system sold in the UK”, has been installed at Trust healthcare facilities including the Ashworth, Mossley, and Rathbone Hospitals, and the Scott Clinic in St Helens. Total annual energy consumption savings across the sites has reportedly been cut by an average 18%. The Powerstar voltage optimisation system cuts energy use by controlling incoming voltage to more accurately meet the specifications of equipment on site. It also reportedly improves the life expectancy of on-site equipment and reduces maintenance costs. Payback time is typically between around nine months and two and a half years.
