Water ingress through roof structures can considerably damage building interiors.
Encountering this issue, and seeking a “cost-effective, yet professional solution”, Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, based at Delta Point, West Bromwich, approached specialist roofline product manufacturer, Contour Casings – with a subsequent site survey by Contour’s consultants identifying that its wall capping system could eradicate the problem. Michael Kennedy, the Trust’s estates manager, said: “Poor existing coping detail was allowing water to track below the roof finish and into the building. We had worked with Contour on several other projects, and its design team recommended the wall capping product. It proved significantly cheaper than alternative ‘traditional’ remedies. The system ensures that all surface water drains onto the roof deck, thus preventing it penetrating the coping detail and getting into the cavity.”
