Gradus has installed a variety of wall protection at The James Cook University Hospital’s new £35 million cancer centre in Middlesbrough.
A complete wall protection system, including wall guards, corner guards, Dual Rail – a combined handrail and wall guard system, rubrails, and bed protectors, all in Willow (pastel green), has helped create “a tranquil yet hygienic design solution”. Corridors feature Gradus InPro products. To protect against damage from wheeled traffic, 1400i wall guards were installed at mid- and low levels, while, to enhance pedestrian safety, HTM 69 and HBN 00-04- compliant 3500W Dual Rail, combining a timber support handrail and a wall guard, features. High impact PVC-u corner guards were fitted to all external corners in clinical areas subject to trolley damage, while, to prevent scrapes and dents to doors, low and mid-level kickplates and pushplates cut from Sanparrel PVC-u sheet, plus bespoke PVC-u door edge guards, were installed, along with stainless steel corner guards. A Gradus bed protection system in wards protects surfaces and critical wall-mounted equipment from damage by frequently moved, lowered, or raised, patient beds and chemotherapy chairs
