Revolutionising integral blind systems

Yorkshire-based Intaview has launched a new privacy and vision control system that utilises a twin-film concept “to provide a superior performance, and offer greater vision for privacy vision panels in office partitions, windows, doors, screens, and corridors”.

With “a patented design with compact construction”, and “minimally intrusive controls”, the system sits between the panes of, and entirely within the frame area of, standard double-glazed units. Steve Woodhead, Intaview’s sales and marketing director, explained: “There is clearly a market niche for a system that delivers better performance and greater vision, is easy to install, maintenancefree, and fits within standard internal partition framework.” The “twin-film” design sees one static set of stripes etched on one of the glass panes, and a set of rotating stripes on a continuous film positioned over compact rollers. Rotating the top drive roller causes the non-fixed film to move the strands in opposite directions, providing a range of visibility options. Additional benefits include the very close spacing of the films within a 2 mm area, “ensuring maximum vision at very close angles of view”, plus a counterbalanced actuation mechanism that “requires little operating energy, and is ideal for simple manual operation, yet requires only low power for automatic operation, and can be scaled up to very large window sizes”. Steve Woodhead added: “The system’s benefits far outweigh traditional integral vertical and venetian blind systems; it can improve glare reduction; offers enhanced acoustic performance, and, fitting within standard 24 mm double-glazing units, is ideal for retrofit refurbishments. It looks great too, boasting some of electronically switchable glass’s benefits, but at a fraction of the price.”
