Against what it says is “a backdrop of product recalls and counterfeit goods”, the British Standards Institution (BSI) has launched a new Kitemark scheme for commercial catering appliances.
The “UK’s premier symbol of quality and reassurance” will be awarded to commercial catering appliances (domestic appliances already have their own Kitemark schemes) that meet the grade, “giving manufacturers of gas and electrical appliance products, and installers and purchasers of commercial appliances, confidence in safe, fit-for-purpose appliances”.
