Tackling the Pseudomonas threat

Douglas Delabie’s latest electronic wall-mounted tap features a BIOCLIP spout with fixed and removable options for mounting on panels under 20 mm thick. The spout is easily removed for disinfection.

Designed to counter crossinfection, and promote water efficiency, the unit comes with chrome-plated mounting plate, separate detection sensor for wall-mounting, electronic box for mains supply (230/12V), duty flush, and 12V half-inch solenoid valve with filter joints. The antibacterial duty flush operates every 24 hours after last use. Two removable brass spouts enable continuous use during disinfection, while the hygienic flow straightener prevents retention of impurities. The BIOCLIP spout will withstand thermal shocks, and “is ideal for fitting sterilising filters”. Bob Purdom, commercial director, said: “Mixer and tap surfaces are exposed at the spout’s end to bacterial growth and contamination by bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. BIOCLIP mixers and taps limit bacterial proliferation, and are easy to disinfect.”
