Electronics specialist is new Company Affiliate

One of IHEEM’s newest Company Affiliate Members is Salisbury-based ML Electronics (MLE).

Established over 15 years ago, and recently awarded the 2011 Wiltshire Business of the Year Award, the Wiltshire company specialises in “innovative electronics design and manufacturing, focusing on developing medical and healthcare products from concept through to market”. MLE’s multi-disciplined engineering team works with clients “to understand and analyse system requirements, explore new designs through prototypes, and refine ideas into market-leading products”. One of MLE’s technical sales engineers is former IHEEM events and education manager, Jeff Pickering, who said: “After two very interesting years at IHEEM, I was keen to get back to the electronics ‘fold’, and am pleased to have joined a company that is so heavily involved in the medical and healthcare sector”. He added: “We are an ISO13485 company, experienced in designing high quality products to EN60601 medical standards, and in supporting our clients through FDA 510(k) submissions.” MLE’s “creative approach”, Jeff Pickering says, combines with its “strong commercial focus” to provide a full range of services, including designing medical electronic devices and systems that are “safe, robust, costeffective, and compliant with the relevant regulations”. The company also offers turnkey solutions, consultancy, feasibility studies, scientific research and development, proof-of-concept demonstrators, in-house UK production, and high-volume overseas manufacture. Its analogue and digital electronics design skills meanwhile encompass instrumentation, digital signal processing, power technology, human interfaces, communications, control systems, and software. Jeff Pickering says that MLE is looking forward to working closely with IHEEM’s head office and with the Institute’s Southern Branch to support IHEEM events and the Institute’s Technology Platforms, “particularly in the area of Medical Devices”.
