Plexus, Gent by Honeywell’s first ever wireless fire detection system, uses “unique” mesh technology for “an unprecedented level of integrity and user confidence”.
A hybrid system, Plexus enables use of both wired and wireless devices, through up to 10 radio loop transceivers, each acting as a gateway between the wired and the wireless system. A fire detection system designer can now specify wireless devices where building constraints prohibit cables, and where disruption to the building fabric or the activity within it must be minimised. The Gent solution ensures every device on the radio loop can relay its own signal, plus signals from other devices nearby, to maintain the connection. The system supports call points, sounders, and strobes, and a range of sensors incorporating Gent’s multifunctional S-Quad technology.
