In the first six months of 2011, Indepth Hygiene reports over 30% more enquiries for its specialist ventilation system cleaning services than in the same period in 2010.
While demand for deep cleaning of grease extract systems continues to grow as more recognise the need to comply with the Fire Safety Order, there has also been a notable increase in demand for cleaning general extract and supply (air conditioning) systems in hospitals. The company said: “Healthcare estates and facilities managers have also taken note of the increasing evidence that air conditioning systems provide ideal conditions for cultivation and dissemination of HAIs, and particularly MRSA and C. difficile.” The company says it will survey ventilation systems free-of-charge.
