Plenty to look forward to in Manchester

Many HEJ readers will first see this issue as they pick up a copy at Healthcare Estates 2011, IHEEM’s flagship conference and exhibition in Manchester.

Health Estate Journal looks ahead at some of the anticipated show highlights, and describes plans already in hand for next year’s event, which is also set to be held at Manchester Central.

This year’s Healthcare Estates event, taking place in Manchester from 1-2 November, is expected to see record numbers of attendees from the healthcare sector. Senior healthcare estates and facilities directors and managers from across the UK, as well as representatives from the architectural community, construction companies, mechanical and electrical contractors, and the many other organisations operating in this fast-moving sector, will enjoy two days of debate and discussion on key issues. They will also have one of the year’s best opportunities to network with the 160+ exhibitors who will showcase many of the latest products, services, and innovations, on their stands. The Healthcare Estates conference, being staged by IHEEM, is expected to attract 250 delegates. In the opening address, Paul Kingsmore, IHEEM’s President, will welcome delegates to a conference where many of the key issues discussed and debated will centre on the changes required to deliver a credible, and sustainable – in all senses of the word – health service over the next decade and beyond. But what, in particular, can delegates look forward to?

 A ‘brave new world’?
