Trend Control Systems has launched the first two models in ‘a new generation’ of building energy management system (BEMS) controllers. Although small, the Trend IQ411 (pictured) and IQ412 reportedly offer ‘advanced capabilities not found on any other building services controller, even much larger ones’.
With features that simplify installation, engineering, and commissioning’, they are said to be ideal for energy-efficient, highly distributed local control of services such as underfloor heating, natural ventilation, small air handlers, and air-conditioning terminal units, and are designed as ‘perfect drop-in replacements’ for Trend IQ211/212 and IQ70 controllers ‘nearing the end of their operational lives’. Ethernet connectivity and a web server are standard, and there are versions connectable to a Trend LAN and/or BACnet. Compatible with earlier Trend control and monitoring equipment, the controllers are reportedly quick to set up and commission, and have an improved optimum start/stop algorithm.
