Training establishment, Eastwood Park, says that a ‘unique’ new course called Essentials for Estates will ‘deliver just that’ – an opportunity for estates and facilities managers, and those aspiring to the role, to ‘improve their existing core skills, as well as gain new tools and guidance to enable them to operate more effectively in today’s challenging and changing healthcare environment’.
Launched this month, the course will be led by Stephen Lloyd, who has many years’ experience in estates management; supported by visiting experts throughout the week. The focus will be on the ‘key specialist function areas’, including:
• Managing budgets and staff.
• Meeting customers’ expectations.
• Understanding and fulfilling duty of care to staff, patients, and site visitors,
• Awareness of an organisation’s obligations under HTM/CFPP guidelines.
• Identifying and managing estates risks.
• Scoping and planning maintenance and minor works.
• Performance measures.
• Planning for carbon reduction.
Eastwood Park’s training manager, Jacquie Rinaldi, says: “This one-week course will be an invigorating experience, stimulated by visiting experts in their specialist fields. It will offer many benefits to individuals and project teams, including those who are either in the process of starting, or are already involved in, PFI/PPP projects.”
The first course runs from 21-25 May at Eastwood Park’s training centre in Gloucestershire; there are only limited spaces available. However, where an organisation needs a number of its facilities team trained, Eastwood Park says the course can also be delivered on site.
Following the initial course in May, the next scheduled date for the Essentials for Estates training will be in October. T: 01454 262777 to book. More details are available at: www.eastwoodpark.co.uk
