Over 300 UK hospital installations

Offering ‘a complete turnkey package, from design to installation’, Wandsworth Group claims to have been ‘at the forefront of communications technology within the healthcare sector for over 50 years’; its equipment has been installed in over 300 hospitals across the UK.

The company said: “Working very closely with NHS Estates on the development of the latest HTM guidance for nurse call and bedhead services, we have been proactive in developing the technology, for instance during the stepchange from analogue call systems through digital call systems to the present day IP-based systems, where functionality includes two-way speech links between patient and nurse.” Wandsworth’s many successful installations have included projects at the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, the recently-opened Pembury Hospital in Kent (pictured), and, in the latest success, at the £430 m South Bristol Community Hospital. Recent product developments include staff attack and location systems using IR, RF, and LF systems, while ID badges can be programmed to specific levels of call, and used as location devices for call logging information.
