The new volume-controlled counter current range of EcoSave Water Softeners from Environmental Water Systems (UK) reportedly offers significant cost savings, and ‘reduced negative impact on the environment’, plus reliable, economical operation.
EWS (UK) says: “The softeners are extremely economical, allowing plant to reach its full capacity before an automatic regeneration and exchange between filter tanks takes place. The plant supplies soft water during regeneration, enabling continuous operation. The unit runs in reverse flow, resulting in extremely low salt and water consumption, and minimal ‘leakage’ during operation. The plant design is simple, and configuration can be flexible to suit the plant area available. The unit is PLC-controlled – making it possible to alter the operating conditions. An optional conductivity meter can be installed to monitor the rinse stages – which EWS says allows potential water wastage reduction of 25-35%.” Claimed advantages include:
• ‘Up to an 80% reduction’ in water consumption compared with conventional water softeners.
• Low maintenance.
• Safe, reliable operation.
• Typical payback of 12-18 months.
