ATB Systems will show its new ‘enhanced security’ Taurus Max Parallel Opening window, said to be ‘ideal for hospitals, where both security and improved air circulation are essential’.
Part of the company’s Secure Products portfolio, the window is claimed to be the market’s first parallel opening aluminium commercial window, and is tested and certificated to Warrington Certification’s WCL 2 standard, for ‘the enhanced security of windows and doors’. Also shown will be Hammerglass, a ‘new generation’ polycarbonate sheet, reportedly ‘300 times stronger than glass, and almost unbreakable’. Recognised by Secured by Design, it can be specified in any ATB window or door, but is particularly suited to the Taurus Max, ‘to provide a robust, but aesthetically pleasing window, ideal for vulnerable healthcare buildings’. With a ‘unique’ silicon oxide surface coating, Hammerglass sheets will resist ‘most chemicals and acids,’ and are scratch-resistant. The coating also provides a UV protection of 99.96%. GEM integral magnetic blind systems, installable within the Taurus Max windows with anti-bacterial coated glass, will also be exhibited. Internal fittings prevent the slats getting dirty or dusty.
