The centrepiece of a range of ‘premium performance’ fire detection and emergency lighting systems shown by Hochiki Europe will be live working demonstrations of the company’s latest ‘breakthrough’ – FIREscape+ – which integrates addressable fire detection and emergency lighting technology ‘to provide an intelligent wayfinding solution’.
Hochiki says that while, in the event of fire, a ‘traditional’ emergency lighting system does not facilitate signs to be ‘shut off’, allowing people to walk ‘directly into the path of danger’, FIREscape+ responds to information sent from fire detectors to put an illuminated red ‘X’ on appropriate emergency signs, signalling to individuals not to exit via that particular route. The company will also show the HFP range of analogue addressable and conventional products, including panels, sensors, bases, call points, and peripherals, and its own FIREwave wireless fire detection system – designed for installations requiring minimum disturbance to the building fabric.
