In the ever-changing world of healthcare provision, time and cost-effectiveness are major factors when considering new healthcare buildings.
Premier Interlink (Waco UK)’s healthcare building solutions are designed with the basic principles of speed of construction, minimal on-site disruption, and ‘cost and quality certainty’ strongly in mind, helping to ensure that buildings are completed on time and within budget.
With their innovative building solutions, Premier Interlink is experienced in providing flexible buildings for healthcare projects, whether it be additional office space, student accommodation, specialist modular facilities, or fully equipped hospital wards.
A recent successfully completed example is NHS Lothian’s new midwife-led birthing unit at the Simpson Birthing Centre at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, which has the capacity to treat an additional 1,500 expectant mothers annually. The full turnkey contract was completed within a 28-week programme. The new facility provides six birthing suites, complete with birthing pools and ancillary accommodation, within 23 ground floor modules, plus an additional four first-floor modules to house the plant room. The external finish, which features a colour-graded cedral panel, provides a modern colour banded facade, giving the modular building ‘real design flair’.
Premier Interlink says its experienced in-house designers ‘create building solutions tailored to a client’s individual needs to bring together a bespoke solution’ – whether users require a rooftop extension to existing buildings – a solution ‘worth considering where footprint is limited’ – or a complete new build.
The company is currently working on a ‘highly complex’ project with Mansell Construction for University College London in Central London, involving the construction of a two-storey rooftop extension, supported on a structural steel grillage, with steel columns sprung from new piled pad basement foundations. The extension will provide UCL with additional accommodation on its existing site.
