Innovative healthcare building solutions help address falling budgets

As healthcare provision is driven by constantly changing needs and ever tighter budgets, a different approach is needed when planning for different accommodation requirements; and, Premier Interlink says, off-site construction methods ‘are fast becoming the preferred solution for hospitals and healthcare buildings’.

With its innovative building solutions, Premier Interlink (Waco UK) says it can help clients with the provision of flexible healthcare building systems, offering both temporary and more permanent solutions. It says: “Whether you are looking for additional office space, clinics, specialist facilities, fully equipped hospital wards, or operating theatres, Premier Interlink has the answer. Premier Interlink’s experienced in-house design team can work closely with you to provide the most innovative, high quality, cost-effective solutions available, designed to be DDA, HTM, and HBN-compliant.”

PremierPlus is Premier Interlink’s steel-framed, permanent building solution. The company says it provides ‘clean, modern, and comfortable healthcare environments in a significantly shorter time-frame (‘up to 50% faster’) when compared with traditional build projects’.  Premier Interlink provides long-term warranties for its building systems, with a design life ‘exceeding 100 years’, excellent acoustic performance, and thermal efficiency standards that reportedly exceed Building Regulations – providing the ability to radically reduce energy and maintenance costs.

Premier Interlink is using PremierPlus on a paediatric hospital extension for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust, scheduled for completion in the spring of this year. The single-storey extension will provide a basement IT plant room, ground floor paediatric recovery ward, and a three-bay plant room on the roof of the building.  When completed, the extension will have many interesting features, including hermetically sealed rooms with coded access, a full building management system, special artwork designs for the flooring, hygienic cladding for the building, and photovoltaic panels on the roof, and will be completed to HTM specifications. The modules were constructed off-site at Premier Interlink’s East Yorkshire factory, and delivered to site using a 500-tonne crane at night and over weekends to minimise disruption to the working hospital site.

Premier Interlink’s range of high quality single or multi-storey steel or timber-framed buildings can be easily extended or relocated, and are available for outright sale, lease, or hire to.
