‘Further reduction to Pseudomonas risk’

A new ‘anti-Pseudomonas outlet’, and improved thermostatic sequential lever and proximity mixers, have been added to Armitage Shanks’ Markwik 21 offering.

The company says the new Armitage Bioguard Markwik 21 outlet is ‘a quick, easy way to lower infection risk where this feature is needed most’. It replaces the stream straightener, and is shaped both to provide a more open, consistent flow, and to drain post-use. Armitage Shanks said: “Coupled with an antimicrobial copper lining, it reduces the opportunity for water to collect and stagnate, and for bacteria to colonise. Installable as part of a new installation, or retrofittable, the outlet is easily detachable for further sterilisation. “The Markwik 21 mixers’ clever design eliminates the dual control traditional swan neck – shown to be a haven for bacteria – and incorporates the thermostat close to the point of water discharge, to eliminate the ‘deadleg’ of cold water, and minimise the volume of mixed water to reduce Legionella risk. The proximity sensor options further reduce the need for any physical contact, and can auto-rinse to eradicate stagnation.”
