After successfully launching its wall-hung pan for commercial washrooms at the international exhibition, ISH, in Frankfurt earlier this year, Wallgate has further developed it for use within mental healthcare – by offering it complete with a bonded anti-ligature seat, to be launched at Healthcare Estates 2013.
Made from solid surface material, the bonded seat can be the same or a contrasting colour from the WC pan. Charles Drew, Wallgate’s secure sales manager, said: “We have seen increased demand for wall-hung pans to improve hygiene within en suites and washrooms, and have developed the design in line with our other damageresistant, anti-ligature, but ‘conventionallooking’ sanitaryware.” Wallgate will also demonstrate the use of electronics to automatically ‘purge’ WCs, basins, and showers, to avoid standing water and bacteria build-up. Its electronic controllers can be networked, and used to keep records of routine purges, ‘rather than having to use staff to routinely run taps and flush toilets manually’.
