In a concerted effort to take the complexity out of choosing the most appropriate nurse call system, leading healthcare communication specialist, Static Systems Group, has categorised its Fusion-IP product range into three distinct sub-brands, simultaneously adding a wireless system for good measure.
Together, the company says, the new Fusion-IP ‘family’, comprising Ultima, Optima, Codem, and Aspire, ‘can accommodate the nurse call needs of all healthcare environments, ranging from simple systems for smaller community hospitals and treatment centres, to hi-tech, new-build schemes employing the latest IP technologies’. A cost-effective upgrade path for legacy systems is also provided.
“As an established company that has worked within healthcare for almost 50 years, we feel an obligation to provide pragmatic advice to specifiers and users of our products which will assist them in making more informed decisions,” explains marketing manager, Jennie Horrocks. “We also want them to feel confident that the correct solution has been chosen without incurring unnecessary costs in order to achieve the required functionality.
“What has become clear is that no one solution fits all. With this knowledge we set about clearly defining our Fusion-IP nurse call to suit virtually every need and environment.”
Fusion-IP Ultima typically accommodates the needs of a new-build hospital requiring a fully structured wired solution, with IP connectivity at the patient bedside, in order to provide advanced functionalities such as VoIP speech and IP TV entertainment. Equally, for those requiring the simplicity and advantages of a structured-wired solution, but not necessarily the added cost of full IP connectivity at the bed, Static Systems offers Fusion-IP Optima.
Designed, meanwhile, for healthcare installations with ‘more basic needs’, or perhaps wishing only to refresh or upgrade an existing system, is Fusion-IP Codem.
Static Systems says: “Fusion-IP Aspire is a radio-based solution ideally suited to low acuity environments such as hospices, day care facilities, and care homes, or as a temporary system for use during ward upgrades.”
All solutions in the Fusion-IP family can operate independently, or as one integrated system with connection via a TCP/IP connection through an Ethernet switch.
