Up to the challenge

A furniture collection designed and developed specifically for ‘demanding environments across the mental health sector’ will be shown by Knightsbridge Furniture.

The Knightsbridge ‘Challenging Behaviour Collection’ has been created to meet demand for the company’s expertise in fitting out hospitals, residential homes, prisons, and other facilities accommodating individuals demonstrating ‘challenging behaviour patterns’. Comprising seating, tables, and cabinet units designed to be ‘safe, robust, and yet still stylish’, the collection ‘helps build an effective and practical therapeutic environment’. Included is a wide range of upholstered seating with reinforced frames and optional safety weighting: all soft seating comes with anti-tamper and anti-ligature features, and an absence of concealment pockets. Dining tables and chairs can also be weighted – a feature ‘disguised within chic, contemporary lines’, while new dining units with fixed seats are designed for mounting securely to the floor. Models from the Knightsbridge ‘Challenging Behaviour Collection’ can also form the basis of complete bespoke projects. Shown is the company’s Madison seating, which can be supplied to the ‘Extreme’ specification for mental healthcare environments.
