Due to the ever-increasing demand for hospital accommodation, innovative and alternative construction methods are fast becoming a preferred solution – due to the speed at which they be completed.
MTX Contracts offers ‘a bespoke construction solution comparative to that of a traditional build without the compromises often associated with modular buildings’. Commercial director, David Hartley, said: “The MTX modular building system provides unlimited architectural design licence, solid concrete floors, and no unsightly internal columns. Our programmes are often completed in under half the time of traditional construction solutions, due to sub-structure, superstructure, and mechanical assembly works taking place in parallel. We can be on site constructing the foundations, in a factory constructing the building and completing the fit-out, and in a workshop pre-assembling mechanical and electrical services, simultaneously. When the pre-constructed building is delivered to site, up to 80% of the work is complete.
“The modular building concept supports hospitals’ urgent accommodation requirements, and often provides a medium to long-term solution. The majority of construction work takes place away from busy hospital estates, significantly reducing vehicle movements, and often eliminating the requirement for heavy, dangerous plant.”
