‘Pioneering’ shower for ‘the less able’

The ‘pioneering’ Joy Care by Bristan, a ‘stylishly designed’ BEAB Care and RNIB-endorsed shower said to be easy to install and retrofit, is being used in conjunction with shower pumps ‘to meet the complex requirements of wet room retrofits in the care and social housing sectors’.

Bristan said: “Traditionally, due to the fact that wet rooms designed for wheelchair needs typically incorporate level access to the showering area, gravity drainage is not always an option. As such, a Level-Access Pump (LAP) is needed to provide a reliable solution for waste water removal; however it can often be a timely task to find the right shower for the right pump solution.”

With this in mind, the new Bristan Joy Care, developed ‘to provide the ultimate in ease of use for people with varying capabilities’, has been designed to be used in conjunction with a number of LAPs, including the ‘market-leading’ Whale Pump. Bristan said: “The result is a comprehensive solution for those seeking an easy and cost-effective solution for their washroom requirements where disabled access is needed.”

Lisa Ward, product group manager, added: “Since its April launch, our Joy Care shower has proven an unprecedented success – providing the market with a truly innovative shower which can cater for varying abilities while, unlike most market offers, also incorporating a stylish design.”
