A ‘welcome upturn’ in the UK market in 2014/ 15, ‘particularly in medical research and translation medicine’, is reported by global design firm, Stantec Architecture, which says it is also seeing international projects ‘on the up’.
The photo below shows The Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health, a new translational research facility with clinical and research spaces under one roof in Vancouver.
In Manchester, Stantec architect and principal, Jonathan Wilson, will speak on ‘Designing our way out of emergency’ from 2.30-2.50 p.m. on 20 October as part of the Planning, Design & Construction conference stream.
Stantec said: “As part of the Architects for Health programme, we will be presenting on the new Guy’s Cancer Centre at London’s Guy’s Hospital (HEJ – June 2015), which we are currently delivering on site with Laing O’Rourke, Rogers Stirk Harbour, for Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and Arup.”
Stantec has been in the UK since 1990, providing specialist design services in healthcare, education and science, and technology. In all, the integrated healthcare design group employs over 500 personnel.
