The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has appointed architecture, planning, engineering, and technology firm, IBI Group, to develop long-term development plans for both its hospital sites – Hillingdon Hospital in Uxbridge, and Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood.
The firm, which has been responsible for more than 1,300 ‘significant health development projects’ worldwide, has been appointed for a 12-month period following a competitive tender. IBI’s work will involve analysing the level of clinical activity and the current resources at both Trust hospitals, and looking at future plans and strategies. This will include examining the number of emergency admissions, and the number of patients attending outpatient clinics, and an evaluation of the space constraints and the condition of the estate.
The firm will ‘outline a blueprint for future development that will seek to make best use of the Trust’s assets to provide an improved hospital environment’.
