Decorative Polysafe safety floor from UK vinyl manufacturer, Polyflor, was installed at Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s new Jigsaw Building – now the location of the hospital’s Oncology, Haematology, and Women’s Health departments.
Some 2,600 m² of Polysafe Wood fx PUR and Polysafe Modena PUR sheet vinyl safety flooring was installed by Floorsure (Southern) of Havant, Hampshire, who worked closely with the main contractor on the £5.7 m project, Brymor Construction. The ‘design-led’ safety flooring, with built-in slip resistance, was fitted throughout circulation areas, corridors, treatment rooms, and reception areas.
Polyflor said: “The use of the high clarity timber effect Polysafe Wood fx in American Oak and neutral toned Polysafe Modena in Gypsum, with its sophisticated micro-granite decoration, helped provide a homely and less clinical environment.”
Providing sustainable wet slip resistance in busy, public areas where there is a risk of water spillage, both the Polysafe Wood fx and Polysafe Modena heavy commercial grade floorcoverings are suitable for high traffic areas in the healthcare sector. Wood fx and Modena meet all the mandatory slip resistance requirements, achieving 36+ on the Pendulum Wet Test with full conformance to HSE Guidelines and EN 13845.
