Renewable Energy Systems Group (RES), one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, is to establish a new consultancy specialising in sustainable buildings.
Dr David Strong, formerly managing director of BRE Environment, has been appointed chief executive of the new venture. Speaking on his appointment, Dr Strong said: “There is a rapidly increasing demand for knowledge and expertise associated with improving the sustainability of new and existing buildings. In response to the urgent challenges represented by climate change and the need to move quickly towards a low carbon economy, this new initiative will focus on delivering radical, innovative and practical solutions for the built environment.”
The company will initially be based at RES’s Head Office, Beaufort Court in Kings Langley. Commenting on the new venture, Dr Ian Mays, RES chief executive, said: “The RES Group, through its Heat and Power Division, recently made a major investment in three of the UK’s leading renewable energy companies as part of our strategy to lead the growing market for renewable energy technologies for buildings. We are delighted to welcome Dr David Strong to RES to lead our exciting new venture.”
