SterilPlus chosen in Scotland

SterilPlus’s flagship facility, Jubilee Court, is situated in Glasgow and handles sterilisation and decontamination of all surgical instruments for Ross Hall Hospital, Glasgow, The Fernbrae Hospital in Dundee and The Albyn Hospital in Aberdeen. By centralising the service in the one facility, it is possible to make significant investment in the most advanced, efficient and cost-effective technology for sterilisation, decontamination, tracking and maintenance of surgical instruments.

SterilPlus is implementing an Instrument Management System that traces each surgical instrument individually and as part of a complete tray set for various operations. An integral part of the service is instrument maintenance and, where necessary, replacement, to ensure the highest standards for consultant surgeons and their patients.

When integrated with OPTIM Operating Theatre Management System, hospitals can order trays in line with theatre bookings and surgeons can order additional instruments as needed.
