Supplier of roof drainage systems and perimeter design profiles Guttermaster now offers an easy-toinstall alternative to traditional copings for capping and sealing parapet walls with its Snap-Lok system of precision formed twoelement coping.
Guttermaster says the system has been used successfully both in new build and refurbishment schemes to replace other aluminium systems damaged by storm force winds. Sections are installed in three metre lengths so site work can proceed rapidly, while a range of different styles and finishes are available.
To install, the fixing plates are anchored to the wall’s inner and outer leaves by standard fixings and fitted at the ends and centre of each three metre length of outer coping. Angled projections to the inside and outside of the fixing plates provide anchorage. As the outer is pushed down over the fixing plate the return edge of the capping engages with the projections in a snap action, providing security “even against severe winds”.
A silicone bead under the outer capping at the joint prevents moisture creeping horizontally. The top of the outer capping can be curved, angled or ridged. Guttermaster says installations will require only periodic cleaning to preserve their appearance. RAL, mill finish or polished aluminium finishes are available.
