Barry McCurdy (pictured right), formerly Finance Director at Medical Air Technology, has taken over as Managing Director from Steve Stott (left), who has decided to ‘step back a little’ after 13 years at the helm, and becomes chairman.
Barry McCurdy has been with Medical Air for eight years, and worked with Steve Stott following a management buy-out in 2013, which the latter led. He has ‘played a key role in taking the company forward to the market-leader it is today’. MAT said: “As Steve’s right-hand man, Barry McCurdy has a comprehensive knowledge of the business and the market, and brings to his new position exceptional shrewdness, acumen, and an absolute commitment to the company.”
As part of the changes, Adrian Parkin and Will Evans have been promoted to Contracts Director and Business Development Director respectively, and will work closely with the new MD as the company enters the latest phase in its growth. They join Technical Director, Andy Smith, and Operations Director, MAT FM, Lee Manfred.
Looking forward to ‘a very busy 2022’, Barry McCurdy said: “I want to thank Steve for asking me to take up the role of Managing Director. I am incredibly proud of the trust he has placed in me. Since buying the company, he has taken it forward to the success it is today, and I stand in awe of his commitment and passion to everything he does. I shall be continuing his good work, as well as bringing in many of my own ideas and those of the leadership team, as we take the company forward in an increasingly competitive market.”
