Carpet is perfectly on song

A Gradus carpet said to be both “exceptionally hardwearing” and “sustainable” has been installed throughout Birmingham’s new Finch Road Health Centre, helping to provide a welcoming, attractive patient and staff environment.

“Adventurer” has been fitted in the corridors, reception area, lecture theatre and consulting and assessment rooms at the primary care centre, which serves residents within the city’s Lozells area.

Designed by healthcare sector architects One Creative Environments, the new-build forms part of the Towards 2010 initiative, which aims to improve healthcare provision in the Sandwell and West Birmingham areas. The carpet, specified in a neutral Sandstone shade, contributes to the centre’s modern, relaxed atmosphere, while its fully recyclable PVC backing accords with the building’s sustainability credentials.

Reportedly “ideal” for healthcare environments, Adventurer’s “unique” yarn structure and system provides a “20-year performance guarantee”.

The carpet is available with a choice of backing options in addition to PVC, including impervious, bitumen, and a 100% recycled ER3 backing. The latter extends the carpet’s warranty to 25 years, thanks to its lifespanenhancing special bonding system.
