No-touch sluicing solution

Sluice room company DDC Dolphin is launching its “two stage, no-hand touch” combined sluicing solution.

The sluicing system’s development was entirely guided by NHS infection control; the key issue to be overcome was hand touch cross-contamination. To achieve a “no-hand touch” operating system required a new approach to the control systems used, including designing and building chamber lids and doors which not only power open, but also power close safely followed by an automatic start cycle.

Believing that to continue to open and close macerator lids and bedpan washer doors by hand would impose an unreasonable risk on patients and staff, DDC Dolphin created entirely original “no-hand touch” machine controls to provide a clear “firebreak” between potential infection source and infection paths back to the patient. The company now offers “nohand touch” controls across its entire hospital sluice machine range.
