Quintain says GP ‘super surgery’ will open at Wembley Park

Quintain, the award-winning developer behind Wembley Park, which is ‘transforming long-neglected space around the National Stadium into a vibrant new district of London’, has announced news of a new GP ‘super surgery’ to open at the new district’s heart.

When operational, it will be the largest NHS GP practice in the Brent, serving up to 25,000 patients. The space is being delivered by on the ground floor of the recently opened ‘Repton Gardens’ residential development, in agreement with Brent Council. The 11,000 ft2 surgery will significantly increase patient capacity in the area, providing a new space for 16 GPs, and will  open to the public from March 2024, operated by the relocated Wembley Park Medical Centre

Quantain explained: “The build will create state-of-the-art general practice medical spaces, including two clinical suites, 14 consult exam rooms, four treatment rooms, and an e-consult room. It has been designed with a double-height reception and waiting area into the ground floor of the Repton Gardens residential development at the heart of Wembley Park.”

The property developer describes the announcement of the NHS ‘super surgery’ as ‘a significant milestone’ in the delivery of the Wembley Park neighbourhood, ‘which has been planned from the start to provide all the community facilities everyone needs within easy reach’.  The surgery building will be designed by architects, The Manser Practice/

Councillor Neil Nerva, Brent’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Adult Social Care, said: “I’m delighted that local people will benefit from such a brilliant and necessary local resource as part of the growth of the area. It’s really important that developers work with the Council and local health services to ensure improvements being made to our neighbourhoods include all the necessary services and public realm infrastructure to meet the needs of both long-standing and new residents. This is an excellent example of what Brent has done to champion that sort of arrangement, and will see Wembley Park provided with a state-of-the-art health facility that goes hand in hand with the Council’s ambition to create a healthier Brent.”

The practice will join the growing number of fitness and healthcare amenities within the area, such as independent yoga studio, More Yoga, bike specialists, Fix Your Cycle, and Specsavers. Each Quintain Living building offers residents’ dedicated gym spaces, while The Yellow, Wembley Park’s community centre, hosts free and low-cost community classes such as women's only fitness, parent and toddler groups and dance, encouraging people to meet and improve their wellbeing in a supportive environment.
