T-safe is inviting visitors to Healthcare Estates 2024 in Manchester in October to visit its stand, G34, to learn about its ‘new innovative water safety security anti-tamper solutions’, which are designed to prevent the unauthorised removal of point-of-use (POU) filters.
The company said “The unauthorised removal of POU filters can increase the risk of infection from waterborne pathogens, by enabling the uncontrolled release of contaminated water in healthcare environments. Here patients and staff may be exposed directly to microorganisms such as Legionella pneumophila and nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) present in contaminated water systems, while other bacteria able to survive in the environment, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, can also result in cross- contamination of surrounding surfaces.’’
MD, Stephen McCreanor, said: “This can be of concern to Water Safety Groups, who have specifically installed filters as a critical control measure owing to known contamination of a hospital water system. This is of most concern in areas where immunocompromised and neutropenic patients are accommodated, where any lapse in control could have catastrophic outcomes.”
T-safe’s latest innovation in water safety provides a robust and reliable solution for the prevention of unauthorised removal of both tap and shower filters. The ‘unique’ design of the T-safe anti-tamper tap adapter and shower hose restricts the removal and refitting of filters to authorised persons only. The company said: “This ingenious solution helps ensure patient safety by preventing the uncontrolled release of contaminated water where filters are installed.
“In Manchester, you’ll find us on stand G34, right opposite the Water Infection and Control Theatre, where we will be serving refreshments during both days, and hosting a drinks reception at 4 pm on 8 October. We look forward to meeting you there.”
