Sidhil claims to have “re-written the hospital bed rule book” with its new Independence Innov8 range, developed and manufactured in the UK “to meet the researched requirements of patients and hospital teams”.
The range is the result of detailed research, consolidating input from professionals including tissue viability and infection control nurses, and manual handling specialists. The beds consequently provide “total flexibility in terms of specification”. Reliable, easy to maintain, and incorporating “superb ergonomics” for manual handling and user comfort, they feature solid platform panels with ridges for breathability that simplify decontamination and improve infection control. Other features include adjustment to “an extremely low level”, while electrically operated functions include auto contouring, giving simultaneous adjustment of backrest and kneebreak. The three modular designs offer safe working loads up to 255 kg (40 stone), and incorporate facilities such as standard and high cantilever side rails, split side rails, and an X-ray translucent backrest. Accessories include lifting poles, “Balkan Beam” traction, drip poles, and oxygen cylinder carriers, while high side rails and IP66 ingress protection are factory-fit options.
