High Wycombe-based manufacturer of wooden upholstered chairs and tables Will Beck, which supplies its products to sectors ranging from hospitals to hotels, recently celebrated 50 years of furniture manufacture.
In Harrogate it will show its Genesis chair, which has a wooden frame but a seat and back made from expanded polypropylene, designed to be quick and easy to remove for cleaning. MD Steve Tarling said: “The seat can be removed for cleaning in about five seconds and the back, located via two spikes in the chair’s base and two bolts in its centre section, should only take about 25 seconds to remove. These components can then be cleaned in a number of ways, including in acid and alkali solutions, via steam cleaning or using hydrogen peroxide, or in a large washing machine or autoclave (the latter at a maximum 2 bar). “The removable foam section, meanwhile, is housed within a waterproof plastic bag, and can simply by wiped down, while even the upholstery can be removed for cleaning. We believe the chair is a genuine healthcare first.”
