Winchester-based noise control specialist, IAC, was called in by Finning (UK) to supply noise control solutions for emergency standby generators within Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge. The two Caterpillar diesel standby generators were installed in a plant room directly beneath the Intensive Care recovery ward, with noise attenuation being a critical aspect of the project. The objective of the project was to maintain the best possible environment for patients should a national grid power failure occur.
