An order said to be one of the UK’s largest ever for cast iron soil and drain pipe is seeing ductile iron pipe, fitting, valve, access cover, and grating supplier Saint-Gobain PAM UK supply almost 25 miles of its Ensign soil pipe to Britain’s biggest single-site hospital development.
Plumbing contractor Haden Young (the joint venture partner with Balfour Beatty Construction) has ordered 13,189 lengths of the pipe, worth around £1.2 million, for a new 1,249-bed, £560 million facility at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
