C-TEC call system for £10 million health centre

A C-TEC Quantec addressable call system has been installed at the new £10 m Todmorden Health Centre in Yorkshire.

Each consultation room features a call-point to trigger standard calls, plus a “panic button” so that occupants can raise an alarm in the event of an attack or emergency situation. The four reception areas have emergency call-signalling strip-switches fitted discreetly underneath reception desks to allow staff to call for assistance quickly and easily using a finger, fist, foot, or elbow. Standard/non-emergency calls are confined to the storey on which they are raised. However following an emergency or attack call, the system will go into full alarm, and the call will show on every display throughout the building. C-TEC’s SigTEL disabled refuge system, also in operation, facilitates effective twoway communication in emergency situations between building management and people located in the refuge area, to firstly assist rescue teams in determining where assistance is required and, secondly, reassure individuals that help is on the way. A range of C-TEC PDA range induction loops have also been installed.
