Trolley reduces unnecessary handling

With the number of people in the UK classified as obese increasing substantially, Plinth 2000 has introduced a bariatric trolley with a safe working load (SWL) of 320 kg (50 stone), designed to reduce unnecessary patient handling and minimise the risk of client or carer injuries.

Electrically powered for backrest and height elevation, with 90° drop divided legs, it can be used as a recovery trolley, wheelchair or treatment couch, while the generous 80 cm (31”) wide seat and pressure-relieving memory foam will, the company says, comfortably accommodate the largest patient. For raising very heavy clients safely to a suitable treatment height for clinical and therapy procedures, Plinth 2000 also offers a heavy duty, 3-section bariatric couch, again with an SWL of 320 kg and easy electric operation. Plinth 2000 says NHS data indicates that hospital admissions for obesity rose 30% year-on-year and seven-fold over the last decade.
