Intastop will launch what it says is the world’s first fire-rated double swing hinge – described as “the perfect solution for doors that need to swing 180 degrees”. Marketing director Sarah Barsby said:
“The only product of its kind, not only does it eliminate the possibility of pivot doors splitting on impact, but it also conforms to European fire and performance standards with a 30-minute fire rating. We believe the Double Swing Hinge is set to replace the pivot door spring, which can be difficult to install, and can subsequently cause high levels of disruption.” Combining the Double Swing Hinge with Intastop’s Removable Door Stop is said to afford “a distinct advantage in barricade situations”. When the Removable Door Stop is locked into position the door opens “normally” in one direction (90°), but when quick access is required, or the door is being barricaded, removal of the door stop allows the hinge to swing the full 180°.
