Bradford-based Knightsbridge Furniture has introduced a healthcare furniture range “tailored specifically” to make children and young people feel more comfortable and “at home” in hospital.
The “Hokey Cokey” range comprises a sofa and armchair sized to accommodate children aged between two and eight, although the range is reportedly sufficiently robust and deep in the seat to accommodate adults. Treated with a durable clear lacquer, the sturdy hardwood frame supports removable, and replaceable, polyurethane foam upholstery, with the seat, back, and arm cushions coverable in a variety of fabrics. The “Goldilocks” range of armless stacking chairs features a matching hardwood veneer laminate, again treated with a tough clear lacquer to maintain the chairs’ aesthetic appeal. A flowing, single-piece construction facilitates cleaning, while rubber feet minimise noise and marking. The range embraces three sizes (in seat heights of 260 mm, 380 mm, and 460 mm) to enable users to sit comfortably with both feet flat on the floor, while the wide seat, supportive back, and “waterfall front”, ensure good posture.
