A recent BioCote survey of 100 care homes found 100% had contaminated kitchens, with “exactly half” having “problematic bacteria at such high rates they could not be counted”.
Major offenders were kitchen work surfaces, areas around kitchen taps and sinks, and traffic “hot spots” such as light switches, door handles, and sanitaryware. BioCote will join forces in Manchester with several manufacturers whose products incorporate its silver ion technology.
