Safety valve specialist Reliance Water Controls has introduced a new infra-red controlled thermostatic tap to its Caremix range, the IR3.
Designed to meet the requirements of HTM 64, Caremix thermostatic taps are TMV3-approved and comply with the NHS Estates 1997 Model Engineering Specification D08 to prevent scalding where users are considered to be at a particularly high risk. Blending hot and cold water to a safe temperature at the outlet allows hot water to be stored and circulated at sufficiently high temperatures to avoid the growth of Legionella bacteria in the system. The Caremix IR3 is activated using an infrared sensor, providing no-touch, “hands free” operation.
