The Medical Air Technology (MAT) Lay Up Cabinet is said to be ideal for operating theatres requiring additional capacity for instrument lay-up to help increase throughput. Re-circulating air from the room, the self-contained cabinet uses 99.997% HEPA filtration to provide an ultraclean air zone across the trolley’s face, using a downward angled air pattern.
MAT says that, for existing theatres with only a sterile pack store (SPS) preparation area, it may not be feasible, due to plant and space restrictions, to undertake the necessary upgrades required for a traditional layup preparation room. The Lay Up Cabinet requires only minimum installation time, and, a standard 13 A power supply, to give a safe, sterile lay-up area. Meanwhile, for existing theatres where lay-up is undertaken below an ultraclean air system, and no facilities exist for preparing for the next operation until completion of the current one, the MAT cabinet needs only a 1.4 m clear wall space.
