Security glazing specialist Fendor (HEJ – November 2010) has launched a “turnkey package” to help cut costs for estates and facilities managers needing to undertake “small-to-medium-sized” glazing replacement projects.
MD Chris Duffy explains: “Traditionally, the NHS has appointed local building contractors to manage such projects, adding an additional cost layer. Fendor has operated as a specialist glazing subcontractor for 30 years, and, alongside our multi-million pound façade packages, we can offer a turnkey service, replacing doors and windows on both general and mental health projects from our extensive range of thermally efficient aluminium and steel systems.” The new service encompasses aspects such as meeting with planners to determine the correct solution for listed buildings, conducting site surveys, full design, scaffolding, site welfare and safety, rip out-removalrecycle, installation, and making good. Chris Duffy adds: “We were approached initially by West London Mental Health NHS Trust to ‘oversee’ a small project. Word has since spread quickly within the NHS that we can offer a first-class project service to augment our comprehensive and specialist glazing solutions. “Our installation teams endeavour to minimise disruption to patients and staff, and, as we are acting as main contractor, we can adapt our programme should issues affecting patient welfare arise.”
