With a regulated flow rate of 3 litres/min, Douglas Delabie’s new Temposoft 2 “easy-to-operate”, soft touch timed flow push basin taps and mixers can reportedly achieve water savings of approximately 84 per cent compared with a traditional basin tap.
While time flow taps are used increasingly in commercial and public buildings to save water and energy and address growing hygiene concerns, the company acknowledges that, for the very young or old, and the disabled, the hand pressure required to operate them can present difficulties. Accordingly, Temposoft 2 requires just 2 kg of pressure, instead of 6 kg for a standard model. As the tap also selfcloses, there is no manual contact after hand washing, reducing crosscontamination risk. Designed for intensive use, Temposoft 2 has scale/corrosion-proof materials, and a “tamper-proof and scale-proof” straightener and smooth surfaces, preventing removal. The reinforced fixing prevents tap swivel, while the cartridge mechanism, non-return valves, and filters, are easily accessible without removing the mixer.
