New specialist training courses announced

Eastwood Park Training has now launched its new training calendar for the period July 2011- March 2012; the programme includes a number of new courses reflecting the latest industry developments, legislative changes, and HTM guidelines.

“We are pleased to announce once again significant developments in a number of our technical training portfolios for the healthcare support and FM sectors,” said John Thatcher, CEO and training director.

“Not only is all our electrical training now delivered in-house, but we have considerably refreshed and extended the portfolio.  Among the latest courses offered is a new shorter refresher course for the Authorised Persons LV, reflecting changes to the Health Technical Memorandum - HTM 06-02.”

Decontamination and infection control continues to be one of Eastwood Park’s strongest portfolios. New courses announced in this area include a certificate in decontamination practice level 3 for those responsible for the decontamination of reusable medical instruments. “We are plugging the gap here left by the discontinuation of the NVQ level 3 in health (decontamination),” explained John Thatcher. “We have also developed training for the Authorised Persons in decontamination, as well as an additional course on maintenance of transportable steam sterilisers.”

These are just a few examples of recent developments at Eastwood Park Training, which also include new assessor and verifier awards.
